Home Why you need a website

There are a number of reasons why you need a website and we can look at some of them now.
Competition
The internet has become one of the main ways that people search for information. If you do not have a website and all your competitors do, you are at a major disadvantage. In the current climate where both commercial and voluntary sector organisations are in competition for sales or funding it is now an issue which cannot be ignored.
Cost
The cost of printed material is increasing. It has never been cheap, but we are now in an age where you can create a good website for the cost of a single item of printed material. The difference is that when the printed material becomes out of date, it is thrown away whereas the website can be updated. In addition, the website can be seen by millions of viewers at no extra cost whereas the printed material costs increase with numbers. It is an unwritten law that as soon as something is printed, it becomes out of date!
Your website is always with you
When you meet someone who is looking for information. you can just give them the website address and they then have access to all of the information which you have made available. This is difficult to do by any other means.
Search
Your website can have the ability to search for information. If someone is looking for something specific and you have a large amout of information, it can be hard and they may give up before they find it. However, if they can search by entering key words, it should be no problem.
